Anime Zero Tier List by Role: Best Fighters to Build
Build the fighter who improves the mode you can actually run. A reliable early Story clear earns materials today. An advanced support or damage pick starts paying off once you unlock it and have a team or build that uses its strengths.

Fighter tiers by investment and role
LY* calls the collectible kits fighters. Players also search for weapons or characters when comparing those same kits. The tiers below are recommendations for when to invest. The named advanced picks come from recorded moves or loadouts, with no comparable Update 6 damage trials for a full roster ranking.
| Priority tier | Pick | Where it earns the slot |
|---|---|---|
| Starter · build now | Your most reliable current fighter | Early Story. Prefer an attack that can hit a pack and a rotation you can finish safely. Compare your own clear times before replacing it. |
| Progression · upgrade selectively | Your strongest owned fighter for the run | Harder Story and early boss practice. Commit to one upgrade at a time if it improves clears, survival, or a route to the materials you need. |
| Endgame · crowd control | Absolute Illusion | Its Update 5 kit shows a blink through enemies and a pulling attack. Test whether those tools improve grouped clears without leaving you exposed. |
| Endgame · damage lead | Void Arbiter (Ye-0) | One documented build uses awakened Ye-0 as the damage lead. Its showcased results depend on the build and the support buffs used in the run. |
| Endgame · team support | Astral Blossom | Recorded Aura and Cheer effects boost allies. Give it a support slot when you have a damage fighter or group ready to use the buff window. |
Compare the fighters you already have
- Story and Infinite: time a repeatable stage. Note how many casts clear a pack, whether attacks reach enemies on the edge, and how much time you spend waiting on cooldowns.
- Raids: compare against the same boss and keep difficulty, teammates, gear, and upgrades as similar as possible. A clean clear you can repeat is more useful than a single burst number.
- Support: try the same boss with and without the support slot. See whether teammates can attack during the buff and whether the party finishes faster.
When to change your main fighter
A fresh pull may need leveling, a new trait, Potential points, or an awakening before it beats your established kit. Keep the current fighter while you test the replacement. Before investing, read the live kit panel and its unlock requirements, especially if a guide uses an earlier build.
